What is this book, a tale of crusty old seafaring types or the story of a middle aged office worker's belated rite of passage? It could be seen as either, but whichever way you take it 'Hunting The Great White Prawn' is great book, funny and totally original. A word of warning: if you read it in a public place be prepared for the funny looks you get each time you laugh out loud-Ledger de la Bald's quirky and surreal humour often lulls the reader into a false sense of security-the hilarious turns of phrase come like a bolt out of the blue.

Hunting The Great White Prawn is, quite simply. one of the funniest books I have ever read!
Ledger de la Bald has a wonderful way with words and spins a tale both simple yet highly intricate with a cast of the most unlikely characters which by some strange twist of insanity you will feel you know or have known!
Mr. Bald's style of writing puts me very much in mind of Magnus Mills (The Restraint of Beasts etc.) and Mills won literary prizes for his work!
Bald should be up there with the best of them, perhaps even streets ahead in the annals of quirky English literature, all in all a fabulous read that just could not put down.
